OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Championship

The OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Championship is a thrilling category – a first in Singapore and possibly in the world – since OCBC Cycle 2015. It is catered exclusively for Singapore cycling clubs and organised in a safe and spectator-friendly format.

As this is a highly technical and fast race, for the safety of all riders, the clubs are to ensure that cyclists who are chosen to race possess the ability and skills required to compete proficiently.

The 4 cyclists in each team will ride a total of 10 laps in pairs around a flat 1-kilometre course along Stadium Drive. 2 cyclists will first ride 5 laps before passing their wristbands to the other 2 cyclists to ride the remaining 5 laps. There will be 3 rounds of races – the Qualifying round, the Semi-Finals and the Finals. In the Qualifying round, the top 2 teams from each group will proceed to the Semi-Finals, making a total of 6 teams. From the remaining teams across the groups, we will select 2 teams with the best timings to also move on to the Semi-Finals to compete. There will therefore be a total of 8 teams racing in the Semi-Finals. In the Semi-Finals, the top 2 teams in each group will proceed to the Finals. Similarly, a team with the best timing among the remaining teams across the groups will also move on to race in the Finals. There will be 5 teams competing to be crowned the OCBC Cycle Speedway Club Champion for the year.
