Your health and safety are our priority, and here’s what we are doing to ensure that. If you are not well, or if you have been issued a 14-Day Stay-Home Notice, or on a quarantine order, please do not attend the event. They will be politely turned away by our volunteers.
1. Reducing the number of participants
One key measure to be introduced is the reduction in the number of participants. The number of participants for the mass ride categories – The Sportive Ride, The Straits Times Ride, and the Mighty Savers® Kids and Family Rides will be capped at 4,500 to ensure participants have increased personal space throughout the cycling route, at the start line, end point and all common spaces.
2. Temperature screening and travel declaration
Temperature screening and travel declaration will be conducted at the following areas:
3. Giving hand sanitisers to all participants
One bottle of hand sanitiser (50ml) will be included inside all participants’ event packs. Hand sanitisers will also be placed at entrance of Hall 1 and at the Event Pack Collection booths for guests to use.
4. Controlling indoor crowd
OCBC Cycle will limit the number of guests in OCBC Arena Hall 1 during the Event Pack Collection on 8 and 9 May 2020. Access to the indoor air-conditioned venue and sponsors’ booths will be monitored and controlled to preventing crowding.
5. Reducing crowds at start line, end point and all common places
With the reduced number of participants for the mass ride categories, there will be enough space between participants at the start line, end point and all common places. Signs will be placed around the event venue to also remind participants not to crowd at the venue.
6. Reducing other activities and increased disinfecting efforts
To prevent crowding, OCBC Cycle will reduce the number of exhibitors’ booths in OCBC Arena Hall 1. No fruits will be handed out at the event to minimise the risk of contamination and virus transmission through physical contact. All rental and shared bicycles will be cleaned and sanitised prior to the event. The stationary bikes used for the Garmin e-Challenge fringe activity will be wiped down with disinfectant following each participant’s turn.
Participants who are unwell or on a Leave of Absence, should not attend the event. They will be politely turned away by our volunteers.
More time and more reasons for you to be part of Singapore’s largest cycling event! You are also reminded to stay home and avoid attending OCBC Cycle if you are not feeling well.
